Shavers does not box well enough to KO Holyfield, absolutely the only way he would win.
You could say Evander would brawl to his disadvantage...But Shavers was not a good enough finisher to string together enough big blows to keep a man with a great chin down.
Also boxer vs. Slugger + a stylistic advantage for Holyfield.
Most likely a late TKO.
Holy would do what Norton was too afraid to do, and that’s capitalize on Shavers’ flaws by counter-punching. Plus Holy could take a punch with the best of them. Add to that Shavers’ suspect chin and questionable stamina, and you’ve got a Holyfield win by TKO. In fact Holy may do it in less than a round just the way Jerry Quarry (another counter-puncher) did.
Quarry never opened him self up to get clocked clean by a Shavers right. He fought a quick and defensive fight. Evander would go toe to toe and almost VOLUNTEER to taste Shavers' right hand. Evander had the chin to survive, and he'd win the fight by TKO, but he'd make foolish mistakes and wind up on the ground himself at one point.
